    Turn off the domain or transfer lock in your current provider's control panel.

    Get the auth code

    Request the EPP / authorisation code. Keep it private — it works like a password for the domain.

    Check your registrant email

    Make sure the email on the domain is one you read; some registries send an approval link there.

How long does a transfer take?

Most generic domain transfers finish within five to seven days. Your current registrar may approve it sooner. The website and email keep working throughout — nothing goes offline.

Do I lose the time left on my registration?

No. A transfer adds a year to your registration, and the remaining time carries over. You pay the transfer price, which includes that extra year.

Why can't I transfer a domain I just registered?

Registry rules lock newly registered or recently transferred domains for 60 days. After that, it's free to move.

What do I need to start?

Unlock the domain at your current registrar, get the auth (EPP) code, and make sure the registrant email is one you can read. Then start the transfer here and paste the code at checkout.
